Porch detail. This is a restoration we did in 2008 from a photo of the house as it was originally built in 1906. |
|
| We particularly like the elegant capitals on the columns. |

Here's the final result! |

We found a nice little head piece in an antique shop and made this distressed and stained to match cookbook case for the kitchen. |
|
Here's a clever little renovtion we did in a postage stamp sized kitchen in the back bay. The cabinets were fabricated by Kochman and Company in Canton. Architect: Janet Hurwitz, a Back Bay architect we've worked with many times over the years.

Here's a big wall unit with a library ladder we did for a client in Manchester by the Sea. We managed to quadruple the storage in the Master bedroom.

A custom bookcase and desk unit for a client in the South End. Note the "floating shelves" on the bookcase, and the "hidden" printer which pulls out on a tray in the desk unit.

  |
| When we restored these doors, we designed a pattern for the glass, which we laid out with special tape and had sandblasted into the glass panels. |

A custom vanity I designed for a Cambridge bath renovation. |
|
| Nothing is uglier than the cheap sheet metal covers that are supplied with baseboard heating elements. We think ours are a much better option. |

We often make custom entry doors. THis was made to match an existing door, in mahogany of course. |
|
| This south end client had us build the cabinetry on the right of the fireplace, and 3 years later, had us return to build a new custom mantel to match. |

When a client is on a tight budget, we often recommend Ikea cabinets. We find them to be easy to assemble and install, and they have the best drawer slides on the market. They are the only company we know of that offers a life time guarantee on their cabinets, and some of their designs are quiet attractive. |

| Nothing like a litte lighting above your wine glasses. Mahogany responds very nicely to this kind of treatment. |

A gigantic mahogany unit in Wellesley. |
|
| Here's a porch we renovated in mahogany, over 25 years ago in Brookline. The "G Clef" was cut from solid mahogany, and the beach pebbles were pressed into the wet stucco one stone at a time. We think it withstood the weather pretty nicely. |

A little armoire style closet we designed for a South End client. He also had an ugly balustrade which was covered by rubber roofing, so we dressed it up with some panels made with rattan, stained and finished.

| An unusual dresser in curly maple we copied from a photo supplied by the client. Generally, we can usually copy anything a client desires. |

Here is a European style gas fireplace unit we installed for a client in Sudbury, we think it's really cool. |
|
| This client wanted a minimal style tool locker in his studio. |

|
| A lovely mahogany bookcase for art books with hand turned spiral columns on the corners which we designed and had fabricated by Boston Turning Works in Watertown. Peter is a master wood turner who can make just about anything. |

A custom entertainment center in oak with speaker cloth panelled doors. |
|
| We made this desk to match the rest of the kitchen cabinets. Note the arch top doors, which are no picnic to make in cherry. |

Wainscoting on a stair is always a nice touch, it leads the eye upwards to inviting artwork above. |
